"Lauren provided more than I thought possible during sessions, and more importantly, her follow up was impressive and very effective."

As a COVID-19 recovered 50+ female living at 9,100’ elevation, I was very interested in nurse coaching offered by Lauren Jefferson. Having already started a healthier lifestyle as of 11/1/20, I was at a point that I needed more information and/or direction to ensure sustainable change as well as optimize my efforts to feel physically and mentally well as this new version of myself long term.

Lauren provided more than I thought possible during sessions, and more importantly, her follow up was impressive and very effective. A few things I really appreciated in my interactions with Lauren:

  1. Her ability to effectively listen making it so easy to talk through many of my concerns in detail. She was even able to listen for long periods and still manage to collect various tidbits along the way and connect the dots for me.

  2. The simplistic but effective way she could mirror much of my monologue such that I could step back from my own emotions/noise and find solutions.

  3. The pointed questions she would ask that created the foundation for MANY “ah ha”
moments. The epiphanies were endless both during our discussions as well as with her follow ups.

  4. Her empathetic approach to the most vulnerable disclosures made me feel her genuine concern and desire to help. Overall, an amazing bedside manner.

  5. Her very personable nature created a judgment free space for healing.

  6. Every issue raised during our discussions was addressed, and moreover, her wealth of knowledge also provided resources for further consideration.

I can’t say enough about my overall experience with Lauren. I have no doubt that she can and will be a very important addition to the community offering a well needed service. I am so grateful to have received her care that provided results in ways I did not even realize were beneficial

Lauren was introduced to me by a mutual friend. I had originally resisted considering help from her as I already had a Paliative doctor at the hospital where I was (and am) being treated for my illness. Lauren seemed kind, empathetic and knowledgeable.

After just a bit of time, Lauren seemed a substantially better person than the Palliative doctor to guide me through my challenges. Since that first meeting, she has become an indispensable member of my healthcare team .

She alone was finally able to get the wheelchair my insurance had agreed to pay for but the wheelchair company was dragging their feet.. She has been phoned in on many of my doctor appointments. She has built a positive relationship with my doctors. Believe me when I say, she can hear what the doc is saying and can explain it to me again after the appointment if I didn’t understand. If I have a tough week, she can talk me down and bring me peace.

Lauren’s help has been (and is) invaluable. Having her be an advocate for me when moving through the medical forest is a huge relief for me. Her assistance allows me to work on my health.

Lauren is compassionate and caring. I cannot recommend her services more highly.

Lauren is an amazing coach and advocate. Healthcare can be tricky, even moderately complex health issues can make you feel like you’re on a rollercoaster, trapped and unable to change course. Lauren helps to parse out the issues and give new perspectives and options. And she does so much more, she’s able to give perspective to not just the physical aspects of health issues but also how they impact your mental well being. Then she gives tools to help all aspects of the challenges you may face. In the end, working with Lauren was the best decision I could have made and I highly recommend her if you’re in need of healthcare support.

"She offered me alternative perspectives which allowed me to have some pretty massive insights and allowed me to continue healing parts of myself I hadn’t realized were still hurting."

I truly appreciate the time that I had spent with Lauren as my Nurse Coach.  I was at a point in my life where I was overwhelmed and had a lot on  my plate, but also felt like I was doing all I could do health-wise and didn’t know where I could continue to make improvements.

Through coaching sessions with Lauren I was able to process and work through a lot of the conflicts that were happening in my life.  It was a space where I could open up and really explore what I wanted to do in these situations.  Lauren also challenged me and my ways of thinking.  She offered me alternative perspectives which allowed me to have some pretty massive insights and allowed me to continue healing parts of myself I hadn’t realized were still hurting.  Some of these insights being that I was a people pleaser and was also trying to control a lot of things that were out of my control…both of which led to lots of anxiety in my life.

Lauren helped me to look at those areas and encouraged me to find ways to let go of the need to control and the need to please others.  I am still working on incorporating these new skills into my daily life, but already I have seen a massive decrease in my levels of anxiety.  Lauren is kind and caring and a very knowledgeable Nurse, but I think even more importantly on top of that- she remained very present and relatable which allowed me to be able to open up and transform areas of my life.

"I feel like I got more out of this relationship than I have in many years of counseling and work with my Primary Care Physician."

Working with Lauren has been an amazing experience for me.  When I first started having sessions with Lauren I was struggling with many issues; I am recently divorced and trying to 'find' my center and strength again.  Due to the divorce and stress of life I was dealing with an addiction to nicotine and a new onset of an auto-immune disease.  I was also not taking very good care of myself and getting the exercise I needed.

The first thing Lauren and I discussed were the Agreements. I LOVED this!  Then we would take a moment to breathe and get centered.  (LOVED that too!)

Lauren is a great listener.  She was able to take what I was saying in a mass of confusion and doubt and re-phrase it for me in a very clear way that we both understood and agreed upon.   I think this was my favorite part.  She was able to help me clarify my issues so it was easier for me to work on them.

In the time we worked together I was able to quit smoking, take more time for myself for exercise and self-care, and focus on a new relationship.  All of these things I would not have been able to do without the help of Lauren. I feel that she is very good at nurse coaching. I couldn't think of a single negative thing to give her for feedback.  I feel like I got more out of this relationship than I have in many years of counseling and work with my Primary Care Physician.  I would highly recommend her to anyone!

"All her suggestions helped me in so many ways. I could see a big difference from day 1 to day 5."

We had our first session in July and I was very nervous. But boy did she make me feel very comfortable and made me feel like an actual human vs. a patient. She was very good at asking questions, understanding you, listening and in return giving ideas and suggestions on how to work on certain things.

Each of our 5 sessions she listened. And most of all made me feel very important. Feel like I matter as a person and patient. All her suggestions helped me in so many ways. I could see a big difference from day 1 to day 5. I grew so much in the 6 weeks Thanks to Lauren. And I am very excited to continue to work with her in the future. Thank you so much Lauren.

"She helped me to look at things in a different perspective."

When I first started working with Lauren, my mind felt cluttered and overwhelmed.  During our sessions, she helped me to look at things in a different perspective. I had a negative mindset and she helped me to find my own ways of changing those negative thoughts.

I was able to recognize all the good things in my life and the things that I was excited about in my future. I realized I also needed to take a moment for myself for self-care.  This allowed me to slow down and refocus.

Lauren also offered some mindfulness practices in our sessions that allowed me to feel calm and safe. She listened intently which allowed me to open up about all my stressors. She had so many powerful questions to help change my mindset. I would recommend her to anyone needing help with their health, wellbeing, or any stressors in their life.

"Lauren put time and love into the practices and they have continue to touch me to this day."

Lauren's insight and intuition were so helpful during our sessions together. She Listened, ask thought provoking questions and her mindfulness practices touched in that the gratitude I felt from that day's session still resonates with me.

Lauren put time and love into the practices and they have continue to touch me to this day. Lauren is willing to share her wisdom and kindness - she was truly a transformational nurse coach.

"Lauren also helped me face fears I have around feelings, specifically grief, and maintained a safe place for me to share my fears."

When I started working with Lauren, I felt I had reached a place in life where my light was not as bright as it had been. Having experienced being a version of myself I loved and enjoyed, I was looking for the corners of myself which were holding me back. Lauren created a safe place and clear agreements to encourage me to fully explore areas that I really feel needed examining with a supportive force to help me look. Lauren was respectful of my boundaries for intensity while at the same time giving enough guidance to help me stop avoiding some feelings!

Through this coaching process with Lauren I learned the value of vulnerability, and was reminded of my own value and how to maintain some self care practices and boundaries with others. Lauren kept me accountable between sessions by helping me create achievable goals each session and following up in subsequent sessions. A very important new insight I gained within this experience is that "dimming my own light does not make others' shine brighter" aka no one benefits if I don't let my light shine! Lauren helped me realize the benefits and values of being my authentic self, and the continual growing process in life.

Lauren also helped me face fears I have around feelings, specifically grief, and maintained a safe place for me to share my fears. She supplied great resources including a book, "The Wild Side of Sorrow", which has been of utmost benefit to read! After working with Lauren I have a genuine renewed interest in self care and actively create the time and space for it. For me, this includes physical exercise, meditation, maintaining boundaries, protecting my sleep, and I even made sure to schedule a physical with my doctor to maintain care and monitor a chronic thyroid issue.

I would recommend Lauren as a coach to literally anyone seeking to improve their quality of life in any way. Her knowledge and experience as a nurse, genuine care, attentiveness, and encouragement create a platform for anyone to truly succeed and watch themselves make a transformation into who they are and who they want to be

"Lauren has a deep understanding of fitness, nutrition, navigating the health care system, self-care, adventuring outdoors, and a deeper spiritual understanding which I felt particularly helpful."

Let me begin by saying that working with Lauren was a fantastic experience. I’m a life coach myself, so I’ve spent a lot of time working with other coaches, and I wholeheartedly recommend Lauren. When I began nurse coaching with Lauren, I was in the midst of navigating some big life changes- a cross-country move, navigating health care for my mother, building a business, and much more. Lauren helped me focus on implementing positive changes for my own health, even while I was navigating some really big upheavals in my life. She helped me develop fitness routines that would work within my schedule and abilities, and made some great suggestions about nutrition and diet as well.

Lauren is a wonderful listener, and I always felt very heard in our sessions. She allows you the time and space to share, and then asks questions to clarify. Her insights and suggestions are very helpful, and she does a great job tailoring suggestions to things that are actually attainable for me.

As a result of our work together, I began implementing more exercise in my life in ways that are more effective and sustainable for me, and creating manageable self care time. She helped me make some suggestions for my diet to create more sustained energy and an easier routine. And while these changes have been great, having the emotional support to implement them has been invaluable.

I’d recommend working with Lauren if you’re seeking a coach who can deeply and compassionately listen, and offer advice to help you reach your goals. Lauren has a deep understanding of fitness, nutrition, navigating the health care system, self-care, adventuring outdoors, and a deeper spiritual understanding which I felt particularly helpful (though don’t worry- she won’t push this on you if it’s not your belief system). She has magical ability to help you talk through problems, reach deeper levels of understanding, and then create change. Please reach out to Lauren if you’re interested in coaching
