Try Meditation This Year

This is the season of new beginnings. Now is a great time to start a meditation practice. Meditation is a time to let your mind be quiet and escape the stress and anxiety of everyday life. For most of us, getting good at meditation takes as much practice as training for a marathon if you have never been a runner.

Why put in the effort? Meditation is shows to reduce anxiety, improve sleep, immune function, cardiovascular output, lower blood pressure, increase resilience to trauma (I could go on and on). There are so many different ways to meditate (guided meditation, breathwork, sound bowls, soundscapes, walking meditation, creating a mandala, etc). My challenge to you this month is to try a few mediation practices, see if you like any of them and give meditating a real try.
